Welcome to the Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals (ICMM), Kosovo

The ICMM, was appointed by the UN Special Representative to the Secretary General (SRSG), Mr. Søren Jessen Petersen in January 2005 as the UNMIK nominated body for all administrative affairs concerning mining in Kosovo. The ICMM with its Governing Board, administrative Directorate, Inspectorate and Geological staff forms the Independent Regulator to the mining industry. “Independent” to ensure that political and local interests do not interfere with a stable mining environment over the long term and to provide for a safe haven for investors. “Regulator” to ensure that sustainable mining, and controlled environmental conditions exist for the benefit of Kosovo. The ICMM offers this website to provide for a transparent information source and equal opportunities for all investors.
